Embodied Approaches to Psychotherapy

Learning Objectives
  1. To be able to describe the historical roots of embodied approaches to psychotherapy from Reich to the current day
  2. To be able to conceptualise and explain psychotherapy as embodied relationship
  3. To be able to discuss the theoretical differences between an embodied approach to psychotherapy and entirely narrative-based psychological therapies
  4. To understand how an embodied approach influences the assessment process and your understanding of your patientís developmental issues
  5. To be able to consider how your own embodied responses are relevant and informative in the therapy treatment
  6. To be able to describe how an embodied approach may be helpful in working with clients or patients suffering from trauma
