My Most Remarkable Session

Saturday 14 January 2017

This event is based on the idea that in the course of a psychotherapy career, there will be heightened experiences of intellectual or emotional awakening for the therapist that are particularly significant for their development as a practitioner. We have invited four psychotherapy 'elders' to reflect on their own theoretical and emotional growth, and how that was accelerated or enhanced by such moments. What happened in their interaction with the person in therapy that led to a sudden theoretical or emotional revelation? How did that encounter challenge them to think again? And what can we learn from their revelations about our own capacity to develop theory and technique?
