Romy Wakil
Romy Wakil (she/her) is a cis, able-bodied, white-passing woman of Lebanese heritage who grew up in Cyprus and currently lives in London. Passionate about inclusivity and bridging the gap between mental health and human rights, her work which is rooted in anti-oppression is threefold. She works as the Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Senior Psychotherapist at Orri, an eating disorder treatment centre in London. Shealso facilitates her own private practice where she offers 1-1 therapy and anti-discriminatory group processes for clinicians seeking to dismantle their own biases. She also has been co-facilitating an online therapeutic group for male asylum seekers and is in the process of setting up pro-bono online therapy groups for her Lebanese community following the traumatic events in Lebanon since August 4th 2020. She offers psychotherapy in English, Arabic (Levantine dialect) and French.
