Dr Angela Cotter
Angela Cotter is a Jungian analyst (IAAP, UKCP, GAP) integrating constellations work, energy psychotherapy and shamanic approaches into her practice. Since 1980, she has researched the meaning of the wounded healer concept in health care practice, using action research and narrative methods. This led her to study and work with Celtic shamanism (with Caitlin and John Matthews), and subsequently to train in systemic ritual (Daan van Kampenhout’s integration of systemic constellations with his shamanic training and experience). From this experience, she has evolved a way of working with dreams that have not reached resolution in both an individual and group context. She is currently co-editing a monograph from The Bowlby Centre conference about attachment, memory loss and ageing. Her work with people with dementia reinforced the importance of waking dream-like states of consciousness. As well as her Jungian roots, she values her connections with The Bowlby Centre, The Minster Centre and Regent’s University.
