Rosemary Randall

Rosemary Randall is a psychoanalytically trained psychotherapist who has been involved in the environmental movement since her 20s when she was part of the editorial collective of ‘Undercurrents’ magazine. With Andy Brown she developed the award winning Carbon Conversations project which uses a psychological, small-group approach to helping people reduce carbon emissions. Her most recent book, co-authored with Andy Brown is In Time for Tomorrow? the Carbon Conversations Handbook.

She is also the author of A New Climate for Psychotherapy? Her paper, ‘Great Expectations: the psychodynamics of ecological debt’ appears in Sally Weintrobe’s book Engaging with Climate Change: Psychoanalytic and Interdisciplinary Perspectives (Routledge 2013) and her paper ‘Fragile identities and consumption’ appears in Mary-Jayne Rust and Nick Totton’s book Vital Signs: psychological responses to ecological crisis. (Karnac 2012). She is on the committe of the Climate Psychology Alliance and is currently engaged in research with Professor Paul Hoggett of the University of the West of England into the psychological impact of knowledge about climate change on climate scientists and on climate activists.
