Leroy Logan
Leroy Logan MBE is a British author known for his significant contributions to policing in the United Kingdom. He was both a founding member of the Black Police Association[1] and its chair for 30 years.
Leroy was a founder of the Black Police Association Charitable Trust and one of the founders of the Black Police Association. Now retired from the Met Police, Leroy was perhaps one of the UK’s most highly decorated and most well-known black police officers. Leroy is a highly respected and well-regarded commentator on policing in black communities and fundamentally believes that there is still much work to do in creating a more equitable and fair criminal justice system. Leroy’s autobiography titled “Closing Ranks: My Life as a Cop” was published in September 2020. His journey from a young scientist to a Met police officer has inspired the film “Red, White & Blue”, part of the BBC Small Axe series by the director Steve McQueen, where John Boyega plays Leroy.
