Janine de Peyer, LCSW

Janine de Peyer, LCSW, is Faculty and Supervisor at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies and at the Stephen Mitchell Relational Study Center, where she serves on the Executive Committee and is Co-Chair of the DEI Committee. Janine is Associate Editor with Psychoanalytic Dialogues, and has published on transference/countertransference, eroticism, dissociation, and the role of the Uncanny in the clinical exchange.  Her publications include Uncanny Communication and the Porous Mind (2016); Traversing the Ineffable: Commentary on Sharon Farber’s ‘Becoming a Telepathic Tuning Fork’ (2017); Portals Through Liminal Space: Commentary on Shapiro and Marks-Tarlow’s ‘Varieties of Clinical Intuition’ (2021); Skating On Thin Ice: Clinical Dilemmas with the Uncanny (2021); and Unspoken Rhapsody: Female Erotic Countertransference and the Dissociation of Desire (2022). Janine grew up in London, has presented internationally, and conducts online clinical workshops.  She is in private practice in Manhattan where she integrates EMDR and creative visualization within a relational psychoanalytic framework.
