Phil Frampton
Phil Frampton is an author, broadcaster and consultant, who spent all his childhood in care. He is founding Chair of Care Leavers’ Association (2000-2003) and formerly a member of the Cabinet Office Advisory Group on Education of Young People in Care.
His 2004 childhood memoir, The Golly in the Cupboard, was described by Community Care Magazine in 2007 as: ‘still streets ahead of the genre’. His ‘Golly in the Cupboard’ programme for Radio Merseyside won the 2005 national Race in the Media Award for documentaries. Phil’s 2007 Channel 4 TV programme ‘Bring Back Orphanages’ highlighted the value of residential care.
