Dr Maria Leahy

Dr. Maria Leahy is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, having obtained her degree, her masters, and her doctorate in Trinity College Dublin. Maria is currently employed as a Senior Psychologist in the Health Service Executive, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Maria has accumulated a wealth of experience working across a variety of settings, including primary care psychology services, secondary mental health services, tertiary mental health settings, children in care residential services, disability services, the Irish Prison Service, as well as a Women’s Therapy Centre providing gender-informed psychological services to women, in particular women who had experienced relational trauma such as domestic violence, sexual assault, or sexual abuse. The theme of trauma, as experienced across gender and across the developmental lifespan, has been a central unifying theme of Maria’s work.
