Danuta Lipinska
Danuta Lipinska, MA, RegMBACP (Accred), MColloT, Author of ‘Person-centred Counselling for People with Dementia: Making Sense of Self’ (Jessica Kingsley Publishers 2009) Danuta Lipinska has pioneered counselling with persons with dementia. A qualified nurse, she has a BA in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counselling from the University of New Hampshire, USA. Over thirty years and on two continents Danuta has created training programmes and designed and run family support groups.
She has developed specialist counselling services for people with dementia and relatives and continues to be highly involved in this area of expertise, currently training and supervising counsellors for a specialist dementia service at Suffolk MIND. Recently she was a tutor on the Post-graduate diploma in person-centred counselling at the Norwich Centre for Counselling. She is an Associate Dementia Specialist, University of Worcester, and Patron of The Forget Me Nots, a Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Group in Norwich. She is a facilitator of the ‘My Home Life’ Leadership Support Programme for Care Home Managers based at City University, London.
