Richard Sprott
Richard Sprott received his PhD in Developmental Psychology from UC Berkeley in 1994. He is currently the Research Director of TASHRA – The Alternative Sexualities Health Research Alliance. TASHRA is a community-based research organisation, with a focus on the health of kink-identified and BDSM-involved people. In 2016, TASHRA implemented the first National Kink Health Survey, which resulted in the first snapshot of the health status and experiences in the healthcare system of kink-identified communities in the United States, including injury rates, the impact of stigma, and issues around mental health. A follow-up study, the International Kink Health Study, is now underway. It will be the first-ever longitudinal study of the intersection between health and kink behaviour, identities and community involvement. www.tashra.org
